Caritas Šabac on October 4th, 2014 organized visit to the Festival of winter food in Koceljeva, within the project “Strengthening professional adult education in rural areas”.
Winter food festival, titled “Sour and sweet – the best of Koceljeva”, took place on October 3rd and 4th. The aim of the festival was improving the production and processing of fruits and vegetables, as well as the placement of home-grown food for the winter. The whole event was accompanied by live entertainment, such as carnivals and masquerades, concerts, performances of folklore groups and competitions in cooking stew.
The festival brought together nearly 200 producers of fruit, vegetables, honey and honey products and collectors of forest products from many parts of Serbia. Rural households engaged in processing fruits and vegetables, and preparing food for winter in the traditional way, fruit juices, jams, marmalade, sweet fruit etc, presented their products.
Project “Strengthening professional adult education in rural areas” is implemented within the Second Call IPA Cross-border Programme Serbia – Bosnia and Herzegovina, and is funded by the European Union pre-accession IPA funds.
