Within the project “Improving the capacity of public services in the field of waste management in the cross-border region” The Closing Conference was held on Friday, September 23, 2022, at the Provincial Institute for Nature Protection in Novi Sad.
The conference was opened by Mr. Nemanja Erceg, Acting Assistant Provincial Secretary in the Provincial Secretariat for Urbanism and Environmental Protection and project manager. He expressed satisfaction with having the opportunity to open this important event. ” Certainly, this is one of the most important projects that the Provincial Secretariat successfully implemented. We will continue to work on the sustainability of the whole project”. After that, Ms. Mirjana Kos spoke on behalf of the Ministry of Spatial Planning, Construction, and Ecology of the Republic of Srpska in Banja Luka and listed all the project activities. Also, Ms. Kos emphasized that the project confirmed the strength of bilateral cooperation between Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“The importance of the project is the transfer of knowledge from the national level to the local level and the successful education of inspectors,” stated Kos.
Now regional laboratories for environmental protection are better equipped in order to improve the monitoring and control system of water waste and to plan further environmental protection.
At the end of the event, the participants had the opportunity to view the functionality of the website and application created by the Center of Excellence for Circular Economy and Climate Change.
Dr. Nikola Maodus spoke more about the work and the method of use and pointed out that this tool should be at the service of the citizens. Using the Tool will make the job of inspectors easier when carrying out supervision in the field.
