The opening conference of project “Establishing the concept of primary waste selection in 28 schools in Užice and Tuzla” was held in Conference Hall of Užice Grammar School, on Thursday 21st March. Project is implementing in partnership with: Public Utility Company “Duboko” from Užice, Public Utility Company “Komunalac” from Tuzla, Teachers` Association “Opstanak” Užice, The Center for Ecology and Energy Tuzla and Regional Development Agency Zlatibor Ltd. from Užice.
Conference has helped in official promotion of project which formally started on February 1st and will be implementing in the next 15 months. In the introductory part of conference, participants were addressed by the: head of Joint Technical Secretariat of the Cross-border Programme Serbia-Bosnia and Herzegovina, the member of City Council who is in charge of public enterprises, Public Utility Company “Duboko” from Užice, technical manager of Public Utility Company “Komunalac” from Tuzla and general manager of Regional Development Agency Zlatibor Ltd. and in the main part of conference, presentation was held by: project manager of Regional Development Agency Zlatibor Ltd, general manager of the Center for Ecology and Energy Tuzla and principal of Technical School Užice.
All presenters have unanimously agreed that donations, especially EU donations, are a great chance for users from these countries to improve conditions in their communities and move up the situation in all areas, particularly in the area of environmental protection. Exhibitors emphasized processes of primary and secondary waste selection as the basic precondition for waste management sustainability. This project empowers all previous actions in territory of Užice and Tuzla, encourages participants and stakeholders to be more affirmative and to take an active part in primary waste selection.
