On September 27, 2024, the “NESESER” Business Incubator, a project co-financed by the European Union under the Cross-Border Cooperation Program Serbia – Bosnia and 2014-2020, was officially opened in Brčko. The project is implemented by the Development Guarantee Fund of Brčko District (RGFBD), the City of Loznica, and the Institute for Development and Innovation (IRI) from Belgrade.
The “NESESER” project aims to stimulate cross-border joint economic potential for self-employment by enhancing the entrepreneurial environment for young people and female-led start-up companies.
In his opening remarks, Deputy Mayor of Brčko District, Dr. Anto Domić, addressed the attendees, while Milorad Teodorović, Director of RGFBD, explained that the Business Incubator’s services will be used by 10 business entities that have signed cooperation agreements.
The total value of the “NESESER” project amounts to 235,881 euros on both sides of the border, including the Business Incubator, which had its grand opening at the beginning of September 2024.
One of the incubator’s users, Armela Junuzović, a certified functional training coach, expressed her enthusiasm about completing much of her administrative work at her designated space within the Business Incubator. Another user, Edin Livadić, who runs a cyber security start-up, highlighted the importance of the incubator’s support in terms of mentorship and space.
This marks a significant step forward for the Brčko District, aligning with modern European trends and addressing the needs of the Business Incubator’s users.
