Project objectives:
The overall objectives: The continuation of improving the communication and cooperation between the local communities and the organization of local communities of these cross-border regions, Priboj and Rudo
The specific objectives of the project: Improvement of the existing International Lim Biathlon manifestation through the new joint manifestations and strengthening of technical capacity for rafting and cycling
Activities and results of the project
The Project” Regatta for All” was the extension of the same project from the First Call, which was very successful, and also very attractive.
Biathlon comprises two sports disciplines rafting and cycling, and necessary equipment for those activities was procured: two rafting boats and supporting equipment (45 pairs of neoprene boots and suits, two mechanical pumps and four rescue ropes).
Regatta for disabled persons was organized within the project with the main aim to include disabled persons in active social life, and provide them opportunities to give personal contribution in promotion and development of water sports. More than 70 people with special needs participated in this regatta.
Two days Eco regatta was organized with the goal to clean the 33 km of the Lim riverside between Priboj and Setihovo from the solid waste on the banks and to raise the environmental awareness of the participants and local citizens. It was collected around 20 m3 of solid waste that was disposed on both sides of the border.
Two cycling tracks were marked and 90 tourist signs were positioned. In order to improve technical capacity of the cycling caravan, procurement of 40 mountain bikes, and 45 pairs of protective helmets and gloves was done. Municipality of Rudo established Bicycle section wishing to make more popular bicycle caravan.
Advanced level training for rafting skippers organized in BiH, provided certain trainees with an international certificate, issued by the International Rafting Federation (IRF). The status of the IRF
Guide delivered them a new professional engagement, existence and further education.
An additional activity which enabled technical conditions for organization Rafting was improvement of the old plateau and the arrival plateau in Uvac as well as the reconstruction of the access staircases on Valine raft.
In order to improve visibility of the project six press conferences were organized and various promotional items were printed (advertising tarpaulin canvas, brochures, leaflets, and posters, USBs, ID cards and T-shirts).
