In Bogatic training session was organized for 15 participants from the program within the project “Eco Tourism in the Cross-border Area between Serbia and BIH: Cross border BIRDWATCHING”on March 4th and 5th, . The project is being implemented in cooperation with the Red Cross of the Tuzla Canton and the Society for the Protection and Study of Birds of Serbia.
During the two-day training, participants gained both theoretical and practical knowledge on making birdhouses and packaging food using a specialized machine for granular food. The trainees included socially vulnerable individuals, unemployed persons, social welfare beneficiaries, and members of agricultural households.
All participants were provided with materials and tools for making birdhouses, as well as expert literature on the subject. After the training, participants will keep the tools they used to continue independent production, and those interested will have the opportunity to use the packaging machine for further production of bird food.
Currently, the branding of two new products – birdhouses and bird food – is underway as a result of this training. This initiative contributes to the development of birdwatching as a new branch of eco-tourism while also economically empowering participants.
