Activities and expected results of the project<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/strong><\/td>\n

R1: Technical preconditions for separate collection and further treatment of bulky waste established on the territories of Uzice and Tuzla.<\/p>\n

 R2: Personnel capacities of  2 local communities increased for treatment of bulky waste.<\/p>\n

 R3: The territories of the two cities are without  illegal dumps of  bulky waste.<\/p>\n

R4: The two local communities are informed  about the newly-established concept of bulky waste treatment and they participate in it actively. <\/p>\n

A1.1: Development of a layout plan and a placement of containers for separate bulky waste collection.<\/p>\n

 A1.2: Establishment of 2 recycling yards on the areas of 2 landfills . A1.3:  Development of the plan and program  related to taking over bulky waste by the two PUCs.<\/p>\n

A1.4: Purchase of 2 equipment for handling bulky waste and 2 special machines for cutting bulky waste.<\/p>\n

A2.1: Development of the program  and realization of trainings for employees in the public utility companies<\/p>\n

A2.2: Realization of trainings for employees in the relevant city administrations<\/p>\n

A2.3: Realization of a Study tour  in EU with a good practice example in the  nearby surrounding.<\/p>\n

A3.1: Mapping and clearing 8 illegal  bulky waste dumps in the 2 cities <\/p>\n

A3.2: Establishment and education of a network of coordinators from the local communities.<\/p>\n

A3.3: <\/strong>Implementation of regular monitoring of cleared locations. A4.1: <\/strong>Realization of 40 info-meetings in the local communities of the two cities<\/p>\n

A4.2<\/strong>: Conceptualization and realization of 2 media campaigns<\/p>\n

Achieved results:<\/strong><\/td>\n\n

  • 40 containers and specialized machinery for bulky waste management were procured, including crushers and handling equipment<\/li>\n
  • Pilot recycling yards were established in two cities, covering both urban and rural areas<\/li>\n
  • A system for separate collection of bulky and recyclable waste at the source was introduced and operationalized<\/li>\n
  • 17 educational events were organized, with over 400 participants trained, including utility staff and local administration representatives<\/li>\n
  • A study visit to examples of good practice was conducted for 40 participants, strengthening knowledge transfer<\/li>\n
  • Extensive awareness-raising campaigns were implemented, reaching over 900 citizens through public events and media outreach over 12 months<\/li>\n
  • Nearly 1,000 tons of bulky waste were collected, processed, and managed within 10 months<\/li>\n
  • Capacities of public utility companies were significantly strengthened through infrastructure and training<\/li>\n
  • The project contributed to improving waste management systems and promoting sustainable waste practices in the participating cities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
