    The target groups of the project:<\/strong> Local\/regional population, local\/regional authorities, organizations, public administration, public and private business sector and all other socio-economic subjects vulnerable in case of disasters, with emphasis on floods<\/p>\n

    Project duration:<\/strong> 02.09.2016-02.04.2018<\/p>\n

    Project objectives:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    The overall objectives<\/strong>: Maintaining the high quality of the environment of the eligible area as an economic resource by cooperating in joint protection and exploitation initiatives, helping Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina in the flood prevention, and recovery operations and emergency response<\/p>\n

    The specific objectives<\/strong> of the project<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

      \n
    • Improved skills and procedures of protection and rescue operational forces (PR OF) and harmonized actions of emergency and crisis management bodies in the cross-border region (CBR) during and after natural disasters in all their varieties (biological, geological, fire \u2026), but with the focus on the action operationalisation on flood threats.<\/li>\n
    • Raised awareness of local population about actions and responses in case of flooding within the CBR.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

       <\/strong><\/p>\n

      Activities and results of the project<\/strong><\/p>\n

       <\/strong><\/p>\n

      The project provided support in protection and rescue in emergency situations, improved personal capacities units for civil protection and rescue for responding in flood related crisis situations and raised awareness in.  <\/p>\n

      Two project workgroups related to flood protection and rescue system (PRS) were conducted, and   the most necessary training topics were defined. The working groups analysed responses which were made during previous floods, exchanged experiences, best practices. Also, they made conclusions and suggested activities necessary to improve protection and rescue system.<\/p>\n

       <\/p>\n

       <\/p>\n

      Further one, three trainings on the topics Coordinated Flood Protection Response, civil protection, and equipment usage were successfully conducted.  The trainings were very productive and confirmed that proposed topics were very useful and adequately selected. Also, two workshops were held and based on mentoring model and mutual transfer of experience. On that occasion Action Plan for Coordinated Response in Emergency Situations was created and adopted, which made significant contribution to the project.  The workshops were attended by more than 30 people.<\/p>\n

      During the implementation period 4 units of operating forces of protection and rescue were equipped with the specialized equipment. And those supplies were used on individual and join demonstration exercise. Individual exercise was the part of Equipment Handover Ceremony which was covered by all relevant regional and local media.<\/p>\n
