{"id":1542,"date":"2011-12-12T12:54:36","date_gmt":"2011-12-12T10:54:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/srb-bih.org\/?p=1542"},"modified":"2017-09-26T12:09:48","modified_gmt":"2017-09-26T10:09:48","slug":"liderstvo-mladih-za-drustvenu-koheziju-i-prekogranicnu-saradnju","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/srb-bih.org\/en\/liderstvo-mladih-za-drustvenu-koheziju-i-prekogranicnu-saradnju\/","title":{"rendered":"YOUTH LEADERSHIP FOR SOCIAL COHESION AND CROSS-BORDER COOPERATION"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Project partners:\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uecpd.org\/\">U\u017eice Child Rights Centre,<\/a> Serbia and and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fkr.edu.ba\/web\/\">Foundation for Creative Development, Bosnia and Herzegovina <\/a><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"data:image\/png; \/><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"data:image\/png; \/><\/p>\n<p>Project duration: December 2010\u2013December 2011<\/p>\n<p><strong>Project objective<\/strong><br \/>\nThe project\u2019s objective is to strengthen leadership capacities of young<br \/>\npeople from targeted areas in Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina to help<br \/>\nthem to become leaders in community actions and promote youth cooperation.<br \/>\n<strong>Activities<\/strong><br \/>\nThe project has been successfully implemented through training, crossborder<br \/>\nstudy visits, platforms, workshops and cultural events for young<br \/>\npeople aged 15-27 from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina during which<br \/>\nthey had a chance to meet and exchange experiences and widen their<br \/>\nunderstanding of other cultures, traditions and customs.<br \/>\nThe greatest challenge was to overcome prejudices and stereotypes that<br \/>\nyoung people had in relation to other countries, cultures and their peers.<br \/>\nThis was expected, given that in recent years the young people had no opportunity<br \/>\nto learn about other cultures and that relations between them<br \/>\nhave been broken off during the past two decades. This challenge was<br \/>\nsuccessfully overcome by organizing preparatory workshops with youth<br \/>\ngroups before each travel to the partner country. Young people from<br \/>\nSerbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina showed that existing differences between<br \/>\nthem do not pose an obstacle to understanding and cooperation.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, they were a good foundation to build new relationships based on<br \/>\nunderstanding, tolerance and mutual respect.<br \/>\nThe project\u2019s sustainability is integrated in the implementation plan as<br \/>\na sustainability strategy.
